Chee Chan Golf Resort is one of the newest golf courses in Thailand. Designed by David Dale from Golf Plan and opened in 2019 this course is going to be up there with the Siam Country Club Group as the best course to play in Pattaya. As well as panoramic views of the surrounding areas of Jomtien and Pattaya you get a great view of the famous Khao Chee Chan Buddha that is on the side of the rock formation from all of the golf course.
An International Championship 18-hole, Par 72 course that is a challenging 7,345 yards from the Championship tees and a more leisurely 6,527 yards from the front tees. The course has been designed to suit all levels of golfers where layout provides sweeping movement on the fairways and greens and features intricate bunker facing, native landscapes and wetlands. In my opinion it feels a little like a links course with the openness of the course and similar grasses in the rough. The greens are huge and undulating making it even tougher. Watch out when the wind blows as there is no protection therefore making Chee Chan a different challenge altogether.
The facilities are fantastic and the staff very attentive. Caddies now are new but doing a reasonable job. Give them a bit more time to understand all the undulations in the greens and they will help you keep your score down.
